Why a Veil - To the Greeks and the Romans the wedding veil was a symbol of youth and purity in some other countries it was used to protect the bride from any evil spirits.
Carrying the Bride Over The Threshold - If a Bride stumbles while she enters her home it was believed that she would have many ups and downs in her married life. Therefore the groom carries her over the threshold to prevent this from happening.
